The Open Door Alliance was formed in 2006 to include more groups from Portland's diverse community in housing opportunities.

RE/MAX equity group, Equity Home Mortgage, First American Title Company, the Fair Housing Council of Oregon and Southwest Washington, and 1st Choice Escrow Solutions -- the founders of the Open Door Alliance -- will utilize their expertise in the housing industry to meet the needs of groups that are growing in the community but underrepresented in home ownership. By breaking down barriers, they will help make homeownership more understandable and accessible to anyone despite ethnicity, languages spoken, and physical ability. 

The Open Door Alliance will begin its program by offering home buying seminars in Spanish.
